Energise your employees with the Bridgwater Way Workplace Challenge
From 13th May to 21st June 2019 why not try something a little different to motivate and challenge your staff this spring?
This May and June workplaces from in and around Bridgwater can take part in the Workplace Challenge. It’s a fun and engaging way to support your employees with their physical health and mental wellbeing.
Participating workplaces will be in with a chance of winning £100 for the charity of their choice, and there are nearly £300 worth of prizes up for grabs every week for employees. Participants will track their active travel (walking, jogging and cycling) and sustainable travel (bus, train and car share journeys) using the BetterPoints app as they travel in and around Bridgwater, so there’s lots of reasons for employees to take part.
The Bridgwater Way have partnered with BetterPoints to use their free app to run this fantastic workplace challenge as part of The Bridgwater Way programme in partnership with SYSTRA, Sustrans, Living Streets and Go Travel Solutions.

How does my workplace get involved?
Many workplaces in the area are already signed up and participants can see them in the drop down list when they register, If you don’t see your workplace when you register please contact Chloe Williams firstname.lastname@example.org who can add your workplace to the challenge. Employees will be able to sign up from 1st May ready for the start of the challenge on the 13th May.
How can you promote the challenge in your workplace?
Promotional resources will be available for you to use to promote the challenge in your workplace and to provide guidance to employees on how to join the challenge and use the app. If you haven’t received these already and would like some or need more, please contact email@example.com.
How do you win a prize?
Workplaces - A £100 donation will be given as a reward to the workplace that gets the most amount of their employees taking part in the challenge. Across three size categories and based on percentage engagement of staff who log a minimum of one activity during the duration of the challenge. Employees – Individuals will earn one BetterTicket for every walking, cycling and running activity and sustainable travel journeys (bus, train and car share) they record via the BetterPoints app each week during the challenge (with a minimum of half a mile.) At the end of the week all their tickets will go into a prize draw to win a variety of prizes ranging from £15 to £50!
The person who completes the most amount of activities during the challenge will be the overall Workplace Challenge Champion and will receive £100 worth of BetterPoints for themselves and £100 to donate to a charity of their choice.
Help promote a buzz in your workplace and develop an element of competition with some ‘Just for Fun‘ individual leaderboards that will be available to view in the BetterPoints App for the duration of the challenge.
What is the difference between BetterTickets and BetterPoints?
BetterTickets are a prize draw entry earned for doing a specific activity. The tickets you earn automatically enter you into our weekly prize draws.
BetterPoints are something you can win through the prize draws. They are a financially backed currency that you can redeem for high street vouchers or give to your favourite charity or community group. (1,000 BetterPoints is equivalent to £1.)
